<My Student Reporter Experience Activity>

Kwon, min-sir. 5-Hope, Daejeon Sahmyook elementary school

I am a member of the student journalist of ‘The Edulove News’. Our student reporters conducted historical and cultural coverage in Hongseong County and Yesan County, Chungcheongnam-do in May 12-13.
We have mainly covered the history of Confucian culture and anti-Japanese movement in Chungcheongnam-do area.
On the first day, we visited the Kim Jung-Hee Memorial Hall, Yoon Bong-gil’s Shrine(Choong yi sa), and Choi Ik-Hyun's tomb in Yesan County.
I was deeply impressed by Yoon Bong-gil, who loved the country. Yun Bong-gil threw a water bottle bomb for the independence of the Republic of Korea and died.
However, this incident led the Chinese government to officially recognize the provisional government of the Republic of Korea in Shanghai.
On the first night, we made the national flag(Taegukgi) in the hotel seminar room. We also had time to announce events related to many independence activists in Chungcheongnam-do. I announced about Han Yong-woon.
On the morning of the second day, we waved the Taegeukgi and played a Independence movement in front of the Hongseong County Office and Yesan County Office.
We also visited Han Yong-Woon's birthplace and Kim Jwa-jin's birthplace in Hongseong County. Both are famous Korean independence activists.
Han Yong Woon is famous for his poetry ‘Nim yi chim-mook(My Lord’s Silence)’. At this time 'Nim' means country. ‘Nim yi chim-mook’ is a poem that mourns the loss of the country.
General Kim Jwa-jin is famous for the battle of Cheongsan-ri. General Kim greatly defeated the Japanese in China for his country's independence.
I learned from a one night and two day history interview that there were many great people in Chungcheongnam-do that led to my country’s independence.
I decided that I wanted to be a good person to keep my country like them. And it was time to make meaningful memories with good friends.
